Hi Everyone
After the First Nations Launch was complete I heard so many wonderful things about Tripoli Wisconsin’s leadership and the many people that helped at this launch on May 7th. James a NSA Engineer from the Kennedy Space Center, who served as a judge for the contest. wanted to make sure that Dan, Frank and Bob were thanked for how professional they were in running this launch. He was very impressed with how they and others worked to help the students get their launches up. How they could quickly determine what was important to fix on a rocket and how they helped with the Haskell rocket to get it to launch, when there were problems at the pad. Not only did they help them but they kept the range open for another hour and a half so that rocket could launched. That was a very so very appreciated by the students form Haskell. Three of the students that helped to build the rocket that was launched at the end of the day were Fulbright Scholars. They were from Russia, Ireland and Brazil. They will most likely never see a rocket launch like this again. To have the large number of people that continued to work late to get this launch off meant a lot to them. They got little sleep the night before the launch working on this rocket and it would have very disappointing to them not to see their rocket launch. Mike was his normal self at this launch. He helped out with out much notice. He spent a lot of time making sure a cluster rocket would launch, He started the cluster rocket for a perfect lift off. Many of the students that spoke with me as we ate supper want to express their thanks to every one that helped. You helped to make a very special day for these students. It was a day these students will never forget. Thanks Bill |
