Motor size limit at Lot E? |
Eric
|
Hi Guys,
I ask 'cause I don't know. Is there a motor size limit imposed if we're set up at Lot E? For instance, if I have a clunky 7.5" rocket at the August launch that goes ~4500' on an M, can I launch it at the August launch? Thanks, -Eric- |

Legally I think we can only launch an I motor. But we are trying to monitor the area to bump a K up once and awhile Sorry no M's at E.

Years ago we flew Ms out of Lot-E but things have changed. Is the closeness to the ATV trails giving us a I reload limit? What are the TRA distance rules? If we were able to set up as far West as we could go in Lot E that should be a good distance from the ATV people. See Ya Gary |

We need 1500' from a building to launch an M. Impact zone. Yes the bathrooms are a building that our occupied by other people in the park.

I have an idea we could put Dan over by the restrooms and when there all clear we could fire a large motor. What the distance to fire a K or a small L reload? Once winter gets here again the Park doesn't have a lot of people in it. |

So, if I am seeing this correctly from a legal standpoint a Level 2 cert flight cannot be done at Bong currently...ouch!
Also, in general has this temporary move altered the waiver due to road proximity etc? I am hoping to do a test flight of my long delayed L3 on a K in the next couple of launches, but that might well not happen. Any idea on when we will be relocated to the new area? Thanks, Mark Koelsch |

Geez you guys, take it easy. I'm trying to be somewhat poltically humorous. But your butts are not on the line when dad takes little Suzy to the public bathrooms and a rocket comes scream'n in. Now we'll have another group of people not excepting our presents at the park.
We are trying to keep a low profile in parking area E. Better yet why don't we just set up on the runway to protest and see if we get kicked out. After all, we did pay for it. Like I said early on, K impulse only. If you can't deal with it go to a different launch. |

Frank, I was not panicking nor overreacting. I was simply asking questions to get an accurate read on what is and is not currently permissible. I have been very busy the last year or so and have not been to a launch in close to a year so I am a bit out of touch. If I somehow missed your humor please excuse my oversite.
Still, my questions are the same. No motor bigger than an I is legal with the current layout from your post from July 1? Has the relocation made any change to the existing waiver? Any idea on relocation timing to the new site? |

I think what Frank is saying we as a club have decided to limit reload size to a K just to make sure we are running a safe launch until we get another area at Bong to launch. What I have seen so far this year recovery is not a problem. But with the smaller launch area and the restrooms close by Suzy and other people other rocket people will be driving in to parking area. I still hate DOGS. |

My March 21st post mentions the situation. Waiver is 8000'. We are 2000' closer to Hwy 142. Depending on the action at the park during the launch we could use a higher impulse.
