re. my earlier post about "was that Warp 9?"...the new Koelsch necksnap wmv video is the launch I was asking about.
So I'll ask again...WAS THAT A WARP 9 MOTOR? Something else? Thanks! |

Hi Dean,
that was from a launch on 6-24. It was a 38mm minimum diameter, that weighed just under 2 pounds without motor. It was not a warp 9...it was an Aerotech I300 Blue Thunder. Accordingly to the sims, which check out with altimeter data from previous flights, it hit about mach 1.1 and about 7000 feet. I have no way of knowing as I never got it back. The Walston transmitter failed for some reason, and being the size it is I lost it after the delay element burned out. I know it was together though at apogee. Mark Koelsch |
