Re-Challenged: Great Midwest Magg Race for Sept/Oct |

It's been brewing for a while, now it's become a reality. On August 19, 2006 at the Bong, there will be a mass launch of the venerable Loc Minie Magg.
To promote the Mass Magg race, Wildman Rocketry is offering a deal for drag race participants only. Combo price for a Minie Magg kit and the I211W load to go along with it: $102.38 (no the hardware isn't included)! For those of you who already own a Magg, cost of the reload is a discounted $29.02! Rules: Not many. We all use the same igniters, I211W is the motor, must be a Magg airframe (a few of us don't have the stock nose cone ). There is no single "wiener". Everyone wins by seeing a mass launch. Here are the details for Saturday, August 19 at Bong:
11am: Group photo: All participants from both drag races should be present with their Maggs (even if they're not prepped for the second drag race). We'll have the sign from Chuck which will be a very nice touch. 11:15: Drag race #1. Immediately following the group photo, the participants must get their rockets RSO'd. The first 10 rockets will take to the pads at the next available rack. Ignitors for the race will be distributed at the LCO table after your rocket is RSO'd. 12:00: Drag race #2. Be at the RSO table with your prepped rocket at or before high noon. Pass through RSO, igniters will be distributed at the LCO table. Rockets will fill the next available rack. If you're looking for me Saturday, I am the ugly guy with the Blueish Hawaiin shirt with the shuttle launch on it. I usually park in the first or second row on the south side of the flightline near Tim's trailer. I will be at the RSO/LCO table around the times of the races. We will need a few good photographers, as the launch will be covered in either Extreme Rocketry or Rockets Magazine. It would be nice to get a few other pics of some of the more impressive launches as well to accompany the MM drag race photos. Justin, you still want to collaborate an effort for an article? Questions: stanseims@yahoo.com See everybody at the Bong on Saturday! -Eric- |
